2nd Amendment rights still apply today. It is the people's right to keep and bear arms, notice also the 2nd Amendment tells us a well regulated militia is necessary for the security and the freedom of a free State.

United states constituion Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.

The Oregon State Militia needs to be Organized for the Protection of it's Citizens.

Like our Federal Government Constitution our state constitution provides for an organized state militia for the protection of it's citizens, currently Oregon has no organized State Militia. As defined in our Oregon laws the State Militia is not the National Guard, It is a separate entity, the Civil Power.

The oregon Constitution Article I, the Bill of Rights section 27 states:

Right to bear arms; military subordinate to civil power.

The people shall have the right to bear arms for the defense of themselves, and the State, but the Military shall be kept in strict subordination to the civil power.

I believe that it would be wise to establish training and the organization of a state militia. So that the citizens will be better prepared in case of a foreign or domestic threat.
